[ And then she disconnects to finish primping and preening and getting ready. One hour later, with the directions texted to Peter, Raina heads to the bar in question, wandering in and giving it a quick scan for him. ]
[ She'll find him waiting at the bar, having swapped his usual red jacket for black. One of the Porter given perks is that Peter now has the ability to teleport -- which makes traveling pretty easy. He doesn't advertise that particular skill of his, though, preferring instead to keep his newfound gifts close to his chest.
There's a spare seat next to him, and he seems to be fiddling with his comm device. ]
[ She takes a moment to look him over. Attractive. She digs the black. At least he knows how to dress himself. Unlike some people Frederick Chilton. Raina readjusts the strap of her purse over her slim-fitting blue, flower-print asian style dress before she reaches him, slipping her hands over his eyes and leaning in toward his ear to whisper warmly: ]
[ It takes a lot for him not to run on instinct and move away from her, but as it is, he does stiffen. The voice, at least, is familiar enough, and the set of his shoulders relaxes minutely. ]
[ He casts her a quick smile, turning a little in his seat to better face her. He rests one elbow on the table, the other on the back of his stool. ]
'Course I have. The thought of meeting up with you helped me get through the rest of my boring week.
As for you -- lemme guess. You've been kept busy, fighting the good fight. Helping the imPort community. Way too occupied to spare a thought for me, huh? I won't be offended if that's the case.
[ Raina appears appeased by his words -- like a satisfied cat licking her paws after a meal. Her hand slips down to waste no time in resting on his leg. ]
How sweet.
[ Fingers climbing. ]
I've been occupied. But that doesn't mean you haven't entered my thoughts.
[ How honored he should be that she spared him a thought or two in her very busy schedule. But Raina smiles over at him. ]
I hope your girlfriend won't be too upset about me borrowing you for the evening.
[ A playful tease. Star-Lord probably doesn't do the whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing considering how quick he was to dive right into that kiss. That was a kiss from a man who wasn't really about taking things slow. One night stands. Two night stands. Multiple night stands, maybe. But never anything serious. ]
[ He shrugs a shoulder, and predictably enough, answers with this: ]
Lucky for the both of us, I'm not taken.
[ He catches the attention of a bartender with a quick nod, who arrives to take their orders. Just a beer for Peter -- nothing wild; he'd prefer to keep his wits about him. ]
Hope this doesn't mean I've got a jealous boyfriend to contend with, do I?
[ Raina orders something fruity and girly. It's her go-to at bars. And once the bartender has gone to make it, she flashes Peter a quick glance and then shrugs -- so sweet and innocent. ]
I don't know that he'll get jealous if I never tell him.
[ Oops. She places a coy finger to her lips. Shh. Our little secret.
[ That makes him huff out a near silent laugh. This isn't the first time there was another guy in the picture, and it certainly wouldn't be last. And besides, it's not like either of them were looking for something serious.
Right?
But he answers her with a wink and a shrug of his own. ]
Okay, then. We'll just keep this between you and me. Luckily, I can be discreet.
[ She shares a smirk and then reaches out for her glass as soon as it's set down before her. Peter Quill, man of little morals when it comes to the prospect of getting some. Good to know.
But Raina also makes it a bit of a point to look at him as though he's the only one who could capture her interest, to play to his ego. Because after all, she's here with him instead of home with her boyfriend. This is totally not some manipulative ploy to get closer to him and his precious information. No. Not at all. ]
I had no doubt. Just as I doubt this is your first time in this situation. You strike me as a man with many interesting stories.
[ She lifts her glass, taking a sip and making eye contact with Peter over the rim. ]
[ She was giving him the benefit of the doubt! ....but hey. Lack of morals? He's just become a hundred times sexier.
Raina taps her chin thoughtfully. ]
Hmm. Share a story. A conquest of the female variety. What would you say was your biggest conquest, Star-Lord? Either here or out there in the wide universe that you travel?
[ He shoots her a little smile when she rests her head on his shoulder, though he's not entirely sure if she sees it from that angle. Still, the gesture is-- well. Intimate, in a way. More than he's used to, and while it doesn't make him uncomfortable, he does tense slightly. ]
[ Because this is the whole point of this meeting. Stories. Information. Time to dive right into serious territory. ]
Can you tell me a little more about your victory against Ronan? I mean, it sounds like it's quite the story. One we never got to talk too much about since we got to talking about the Kree...

I'm gonna guess-- most gorgeous woman in Nonah?

So what have you been doing with yourself these past few days? I hope you managed to think of me.

His own bottle of beer is placed in front of him, and rather than drink, he merely picks it up by its neck, spinning it idly on the bar top. ]
I suppose I do. [ He gives a modest little shrug -- all for show, of course. ]
Anything in particular you wanna know? Can't promise I'll answer everything. A guy's gotta have some secrets.

A gentleman doesn't kiss and tell. [ where is this gentleman, Peter. is he hiding under the coaster? ] Gonna have to plead the fifth on that one.
'Sides, I'd hate to make you jealous.

[ Raina turns toward him, giving him a look of disbelief. ]
I didn't agree to go out with a gentleman. I want a refund. This was false advertisement.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hang on just a sec.

Did you pay someone so you could go on this date? Man, I better see a cut of that.

My matchmaker was only going to charge a dollar, but I assured him you're worth five, at least.
