you're gonna regret giving me freedom of choice, hoodwinked
[ No, not really. He'll pick some place nice -- not upscale, granted, because that's not his scene, but not seedy as hell, because he's not a total skeeze. A few moments later, she'll get the address for a place in De Chima. ]
[ When the date and time roll around, Kasumi shows up to the place early, because of course she does, although you wouldn't be able to tell that she had because she decides to not-show show up, which is to say she's invisible as she waits for Peter to arrive.
She uses that time to observe the place, actually rather impressed at Peter's selection; she'd looked the place up beforehand, after all, which is how she knew to show up not in her tactical suit, but something a little nicer, although the hood will naturally stay on and the coat fastened up (and thank god it's suddenly a little chilly in Virginia.)
She sends him a message at length, just so he knows she's not standing him up or something. ]
[ Peter shows up on time -- because "early" is not typically a word in his vocabulary. He waits outside, leaning against the wall as others pass him by, hands in his pockets. He's not in his usual garb tonight, red leather jacket and boots, but neither has he given up the leather completely. Because damn if he doesn't look good in it. So the red is swapped for black, and he's cleaned himself up a bit.
Even though this is just drinks.
It's just drinks, right?
So a minute passes by as he's waiting, then another, and he has the abrupt (and a tad hilarious -- to him, at least, because irony is nothing but) thought that she might have bailed on him. Kasumi is, after all, evidently in the middle of a very important mission in eradicating evil, or whatever, so he wouldn't be entirely surprised if this night was a bust. The message to his device makes him quirk an eyebrow, though, and he types out a quick reply. ]
[ Kasumi, meanwhile, had been watching the door for Peter's arrival, but when she receives his message without any sign of him being inside, she realizes he's waiting for her outside.
Woops. Best laid plans, etc. In any case, she responds with another message in kind: ]
awww. ♥
[ She starts moving towards the entrance, popping into sight and effectively scaring the shit out of people around. When she reaches the large window out front, she peers out and finds Peter leaning against the wall adjacent to it outside, so she taps on the window, hoping to catch his attention. ]
[ whoops. Peter is, in fact, very bad at this dating thing, so when he hears the tap, he offers Kasumi a sheepish smile, then enters the establishment. ]
--Sorry. [ He rubs the back of his neck. ] You been waiting long?
[ She chuckles in response, and when they reach the bar, she pulls her arm away from his and scales the mountain that is the bar stool why are these things always so damn high takes a seat. ]
Oh, yeah? Well no offense, Quill, but I'm glad you got kidnapped again.

I believe you still owe me drinks. If you have time for lil' ol' me, that is.

[ Totally because she might have to run off at some point and not because Peter might distract her or something. Yep. Totally. 100%. ]
As for place, congratulations, you're picking. I'm curious as to the sort of place the legendary Star-Lord takes a lady out.

Nice place you picked out, Quill.

no subject
No, not really. I was going to sneak up on you, though, but that didn't really go as planned.
[ A beat, accompanied with a small smile that spreads across her lips. ] You look good, Quill.
no subject
You look better. Gotta say? Not sure if I've ever seen you out of uniform.
no subject
Well, first time for everything, right?
I don't think my suit would have been appropriate at a place like this.
[ Well, that, and it's now effectively her vigilante costume, so... Probably a bad idea to wear it out a lot. ]
no subject
I like seeing you with your hair down. Manner of speaking, of course.
[ he offers her an arm. ]
Shall we?
no subject
We shall.
How's it been for you, anyway? Settle back in okay?
no subject
'Bout as well as a guy can expect. Same ol' song and dance, honestly. "Hey, you've been kidnapped, but don't worry too much about it. It'll work out."

And what the hell is it with her, actually thinking she might like being here? ]
--Sorry. I mean, kidnapping is terrible in any circumstance, so.
[ She shifts in her seat. ]
no subject
It's fine. I appreciate the sentiment, all the same.
[ And a tad teasingly, ] Didn't realize you'd miss me.
no subject
Don't act so surprised. You're a fun guy, Quill. I appreciate the banter.
Among other things.

I feel like this is the point in the conversation where I remind you that I'm not just a piece of meat, Goto.

Oh, my bad. How could I forget? Must be because you forgot to wear your gentleman's suit and monocle.
