Summary: Canonly, Peter briefly had powers granted to him by his Celestial side, which were best harnessed while he utilized the ~power of love~. Essentially, these abilities allowed him to augment himself, using a special energy called "the Light," which takes the form of blue-white fire in its raw state. He could harness these abilities to create constructs and to augment himself physically, either by empowering his strikes or increasing his durability. He wasn't too sorry to see these abilities go, considering they were tied intrinsically with Ego. Naturally, he'll be getting them back – a watered down version of them, at least – just to piss him off and freak him out.
His powers will eventually include the following: Molecular Manipulation: As part of his Celestial background, Peter currently has the ability to manipulate matter; the primary application for this, as shown in the film, is the ability to gather stone around himself, using it to empower his attacks and to shield himself. He’s also able to use this particular ability to fly, or to launch himself at high speeds.
Energy Manipulation: Again, thanks to his Celestial side, Peter can summon energy into his hands – called simply “the Light” – to form simple constructs. Primarily, he’s shown to make a ball. Impressed yet?
Self-Augmentation: Using his connection to the Light, Peter can empower himself to superhuman levels, increasing both his strength and durability. Doing so allows him to survive smashing through stone, plummeting hundreds of feet, and to punch the ever-loving hell out of would-be megalomaniacs.
- Level 1: At this level, Peter's abilities will be tied to his stronger, instinctive emotions. He'll be able to fall back on them more readily in panic-mode, for instance, than he would if he were actively concentrating. Peter will be able to summon energy into his hands, which will appear as blue-white flame. At this level, he'll be able to make very simple constructs, manipulating the energy into things like a glowing ball or cubes; they will last only temporarily. He will be able to slightly increase his durability to allow himself to take and throw slightly harder hits.
- Level 2: Slightly more control, though again the powers are more readily available if he's acting on instinct. He'll be able to use his energy manipulation to create more refined objects, though they'd still be formed in blue-white energy and would only last temporarily before dissipating. While actively using his abilities, he'll be able to self-heal small bruises and cuts.
- Level 3: While using his powers, Peter will be able to better control his abilities to empower his physical form, giving him increased strength, speed, and durability. Any objects he creates will still be temporary, but will last longer.
- Level 4: Peter will be able to manipulate dirt and stone, gathering it around himself to create small shields or to empower his strikes – such as covering his fists in stone to hit harder. His self-healing while drawing on his power will be increased again, which will allow him to deal with moderate injuries.
- Level 5: FLIGHT!!!
In order to make use of these abilities, Peter will have to focus or train to do so. Utilizing them will exhaust him physically – say, a full hour of use at Level 1 will result in the same level of exhaustion as prolonged physical activity, and attempting to use more than that will drain him until he falls unconscious. Each level up will allow him to use his powers for longer, with more control.
After Level 3, utilizing his powers will result in his eyes glazing over with stars. |
