What footage did you see?

Somebody in the crowd had a camera of some kind, so it was crappy at best, but it got the point across. Big ol' black cloud and flashy purple lights everywhere.

I can't imagine what it was like to be in that thing, but I'm sure it wasn't fun.

Putting it mildly.

[ he still dreams about it, in fact; sometimes no one is there to share it's power and he's blown asunder. Sometimes he's just stuck there in agony, screaming and begging for the pain to end, but it never does. Other times the stone has a will of its own, uses Peter as a vessel to kill and destroy.

He hates that one the most. ]

I've told the story enough. [ most of it. He skips the unimaginable pain part, most of the time. ]

'Sides. You probably wanna know about the stone, right? [ he offers a small smile ] Bein' a nerd and all.

[ He just gives Peter a smirk ]

[ he smiles again, a little more genuinely this time. ]

[ Peter only huffs out a breath and rolls his eyes; all the same, he stands and moves to kiss him. ]

Rest up and get better. I wanna get the hell out of here.

[ ~Romance~ ]

It's touching, how much you care for me.

[ But he smiles, giving Peter a small nod ] You do the same.

[ He takes up his post, sitting in the chair besides Charlie, flopped over on the edge of his bed. He rests his hand against his arm again. ]

Don't you have like, a bed of your own that you should be in?

[ Guesssss who's pulling a face. ]

Really? You're gonna side with them?

[ Them being literally everyone ever. ]

Peter. Sitting in that chair all day can't be good for you.

Go get some rest, I'm fine.

[ His only reply is scooting the chair in closer and giving Charlie a pointed look, as if to say, What are you gonna do about it? Or possibly, Tough tits, Methuselah. ]

[ He gives Peter a pointed look back, but it quickly fizzles out. Maybe he doesn't have the energy.

Or maybe the fact that Peter wants to stay means more to him than he'd like to let on. ]

Okay, but don't come crying to me if you aggravate something.

[ He mimics Charlie's voice with surprising accuracy, ] It's touching, how much you care for me.

I don't seriously sound like that, do I?

[ A beat, then, ] Do you want the truth, or do you want me to lie, since you're convalescing?

[animated]

Go easy on a poor, injured soul, would you?

[ After another brief hesitation-- ]
