Shitty station called Greywater, first, for a fuel stop, then after that, we're supposed to head back to Xandar.

You'll probably like Xandar, actually. Nice planet. Decent people. The cops kinda have shitty attitudes, but they're gettin' better.

I thought you were only keeping me around until your next fuel stop.

[ Midvalley you were not privy to that conversation ]

... Okay, I know I said until the next fuel stop, but Greywater is a shithole.

The station's official name is Chandra-3, but it's a really gross place. Three guesses for what color their water is.

I'm gonna say... grey?

Damn. And he's clairvoyant.

It's not the greatest place, is all I'm sayin'. So I figure, you seem a decent enough guy when you're not liquefying people's brains -- at least until you show your true colors and turn on us in a moment of need or something.

But barrin' that, Greywater is a shitty place to try to get on with your life. It's kinda where you end up goin' when you're at the end of your rope, y'know?

[ He falls quiet a moment, looking Peter over. A smirk tugs at his lips ]

Never thought I'd end up hitching a ride with a halfway decent person.

[ Peter's hands go up immediately, expression pinching with distaste. ]

[ victoryyyy. Peter still sort of sneers. ]

Yes. No one's gonna be intimidated by the legendary Star-Lord if people think he's a halfway decent guy.

And "the legendary Star-Lord" is you, I'm guessing.

And I'm guessin' No Man's Land hasn't heard much about me. Understandable, since you guy's've been cut off for so long.

But-- yeah.

Hate to break it to you, but no legend of anything would be caught dead doing odd jobs on fucking No Man's Land.

[ He holds up his hands ]

[ That earns him a half-hearted glare, but his expression smooths out after only a second or two. ]

Anyway. Greywater is fine as a fuel station or a resupply depot or whatever, but tryin' to start your life over? Not so much.

Xandar's a better fit. They've been havin' some troubles lately, but better chance there than a shitty little gas station.

What kind of "troubles"?

Uh.

[ How best to sum up the Battle of Xandar? ]

Crazy guy named Ronan tried to destroy the planet. Led to a shitton of property damage and a lot of their law enforcement gettin' killed. They're bouncin' back, but it's a pretty slow process.

[ he arches a brow ]

Sounds like home, to be honest.

Well-- there you go, then. Brand new No Man's Land.

... Only with trees and plants and water. And fewer assholes, marginally.

Probably less sand, too.

Good mix of work on Xandar, too. Plenty of clubs if you go the music route. Less than savory jobs, if you decide to go the slightly frowned upon lifestyle.
