You and I were doing much weirder shit at that age, and we survived.

[ A SMALL CONCESSION as she settles back in her spot on the couch, kicking her legs up to rest over Peter's lap. ]

Newspaper column, actually. Folks would write in, and Abby would offer them sound advice or zippy one-liners on junk like what to do about their deadbeat husbands.

[ He sets the comm aside for now, his hand resting over Gamora's shin. ]

[ She sets her own comm down in her lap, leaning her elbow against the back of her couch and her temple on her knuckles. ]

I dislike that the portal pulls children through alone.

[ —well, he doesn't know. Not exactly. But he's at least sympathetic to anyone getting pulled through by their lonesome. He had lucked out (in a manner of speaking) in that he and Gamora had ended up here at more or less the same time.

Honestly, he's not sure what he would have done without at least one familiar face.

(That's not true. He would've adapted, because that's his thing. Rolling with the punches. But he would've been way less happy about it, that's for damn sure.) ]

They obviously don't know how to work that thing.
