[ Since betraying Thanos in the first place, she's never had to face a situation where the imminent threat of her kidnapper laid within hypothetical reach. She hadn't had to actively come up with a contingency plan to keep the others alive.

It's funny: she doesn't think it's possible for Thanos to get ahold of the Infinity Stones now, so he isn't dangerous on such a large scale. But he's also one of the most invulnerable beings she's ever encountered, so if he had no means to pursue his greater goals of conquest and destruction, then it seems the only logical step for him would be...

... retribution. ]

[ Admittedly, Peter's careful offering catches her off guard. It's more proactive, more responsible.

(Less running.)

She nods, and though she doesn't relax entirely, some of the tension stiffening up her shoulders starts to ease out of her, letting her sink into Peter's side again. ]


That might be safest.

[ At least they'll have more control that way. ]

[ And those words are so rare from her (something she only offers when she means it), but this? It warrants real gratitude. She knows it means something more for Peter, hearing her say something like that, so...
