[ He’s heard of the existence of magic, though. Asgardians seemed pretty into it, for instance. Peter just never saw any of it firsthand, and an engineer back with the Ravagers used to insist that their “magic” was just seriously complicated science at work. Not the guy could back it up with any concrete evidence. Peter always assumed the dude just heard that claim and had been parroting it. ]
Admittedly, I feel a lot more comfortable back in the station than I do down here.
[ There's a small look of thought at that. Comfortable on the station? Hm. To each their own he supposes but he found the place more than unsettling. Metal, suspended above the planet and all those people sleeping and looking like dolls. There's an absent minded ruffling of his blond hair as he asks conversationally; ]
Did you manage to find anyone you knew up there? Or down here? That pod room is definitely a large city on it's own. If not larger.
I— yeah. I have a few friends who are up and around.
[ Gamora and Rocket. And he knows Mantis, and while he's friendly with her, he's not too sure quite yet if he considers her a friend.
The mention of the pod room makes his expression darken, and he thinks of the folks he knows are in there but have yet to waken. Drax and Groot, for instance. Nebula, for another, though he can't say the two of them have ever been entirely civil with one another. Yondu and Kraglin and—
Meredith Quill.
(He doesn't know it yet, and the others have neglected to tell him, but Ego and Thanos are somewhere among the stacks, sleeping and healing along with everyone else.)
He shakes the darker mood off, picking up his oar to start rowing again. They have a destination, after all. ]
Good. That's good. It helps with the adjusting I find.
[ After all, he came here virtually by himself and anyone he knew? Well, they didn't know him or were not exactly friendly with him. So he knew it could be difficult when it was just you alone trying to cope.
However, he catches the darkening of expression and he gives a small quirk of his brow in response. Had Peter found someone up there that he missed? Or were more of his friends still asleep.
He decides not press further taking the question given as a sign of moving the topic along. However, it was moving in on Sen's own discomfort zone. He represses the small amount of heartache it gives him and smiles a bit. He wouldn't get too into his own complicated situation.]
A few. Not all of them but a few. Actually, one of them just woke up recently. A boy named Cole, wears a rather large hat. A good kid.
[ That rings a bell, actually, and Peter perks up a little. To be fair, “a rather large hat” isn’t much to go on, but Peter remembers a particular kid with an unnecessarily big hat. He figures they’re probably one in the same. ]
Big hat with a super wide brim?
[ And Peter gestures with a hand toward his own head, as if to mime out how wide that brim was.
[ Technically, being loopy is very different from Peter or this guy (from what he's seen, anyway), so Senren isn't wrong, in Peter's eyes. Obviously he doesn't understand that there's a particular reason for that, so Peter just assumes Senren's being polite. ]
Kid did seem pretty determined to help as much as he could.
That would be him to do that. It might be a little jarring at first but you get use to it. I find it quite endearing really.
[ But, maybe it's because he knew more about Cole now than he Peter does currently. He wasn't about to start sharing though too much. In the end, it would be Cole's choice if he wanted to tell this man that he was a sort of spirit of Compassion. ]
Just treat him like you would anyone else and it'll be all right.

What about you? Any friends from home?

Pale kid? Kind of— loopy?

Ah, so you have met, Cole. That would be him, but he's not loopy. He's...well, he's very different from you or I.
[ How does he explain a spirit who was a human to someone who probably knew nothing about spirits? ]
He's a good kid though. He doesn't mean any harm by what he says. It's sort of his job to help others.
