But she knows- they can't keep this up forever. Eventually they will have to stop, they'll have to have a discussion, and she'll have to brace herself for the worst.

[ he makes a quiet, protesting hum when she finally pulls away, which would normally be embarrassing, but he figures, hey, cut a guy some slack, right? It's been a while.

He looks dazed, and he's definitely breathless, cheeks slightly flushed, which is why it takes him a moment or two to gather his faculties enough to register her words and to form a response more coherent than, "Ngahwha???" He swallows, nervous and unsure. ]

There's a lecture in there about attachment and trust no one but your crew and other shit about clouded judgment and sloppy mistakes and getting people hurt or worse--

So it's a damn good thing Peter's been ignoring Yondu since he could fly his own ship.)

It takes a long, tedious moment, but he finally manages a small, quick nod and a tiny, barely there smile. ]
