[ Damn, he really wasn't lying about the disorienting part; she hasn't experienced anything like that, before, and the closest thing she can probably compare to is being on the Normandy as Joker was piloting it the hell out of the Omega Relay.
So when he's counted to three, and they find themselves in downtown Nonah, she finds herself just a little off-balance, and she has to put a foot forward to try and catch herself from legitimately falling over. ]
[ He's quick to turn catch her, his other grabbing onto her upper arm to steady her. It's a light grip -- doesn't seem as bad as his trip with Ellie, in any case, where she had needed to sit down to tamp down her queasiness. ]
[ She lets go of his hand, holding it against her forehead as though it'll help with the dizziness, but the other reaches to grab a fistful of his jacket (she knows it's leather, but sorry). ]
No, I'll be good. Been through worse dizzy spells than this. [ Again, Joker piloting through the Omega relay. She looks up at him, a thin smile spreading across her lips. ]
Besides, the first time's only rough if you don't build up to it enough.
[ She nods, letting go of his jacket in the meantime. ]
Hell yeah. I can think of a hundred different ways my job would be so much easier if I could teleport around like that.
[ Kasumi takes a moment to look around; seems that they've ported into a relatively quiet area, for now. Of course, as soon as she thinks that, there's a scream coming from behind them, and she turns. A woman is being chased by a blob--not a very big one, mind you, but by now the news of them devouring flesh and people has spread, and the mere sight of them causes panic. She shoots Peter a look. ]
[ Good thing Peter never leaves home without his blasters, paranoid bastard that he is. So he readies them both (for whatever good blasts of fire and lightning will do against gelatinous blobs) and gives her a wink. ]
[ Kasumi misses her babies M-5 Phalanx and M-12 Locust so, so badly right now (though maybe it's for the best, seeing as they'd be virtually useless without access to thermal clips here). But at least she has her one and only omni-tool, which glows orange on her arm. ]
'Course. It'd be a shame to get my face eaten off by man-eating jello, after all.
I'd be super upset, personally. Mostly because, wow, what an embarrassing way to go. If it happens, I promise to laugh only a little bit.
[ He grins over his shoulder at her as he's running forward, meeting the woman and attempting to calm her, directing her to go home and stay indoors. She nods frantically and continues running.
The blob is still-- sliding? slithering? rolling?-- towards them, and when Peter lifts his gun to fire, it suddenly stretches and splits into two with a loud, wet squelching sound. Peter pulls a face at that, disgusted, and then opens fire at the first blob. A bolt of electricity hits it dead on, and it sizzles, sparks, until finally exploding into piles of gunk. ]
[ She just dignifies his joke by rolling her eyes, which he probably misses since. Hood.
But Kasumi nods at the woman as she runs past and spares Kasumi a glance, as though to reassure her that they'll cover her escape and not to worry. She looks on cautiously as Peter approaches the blob, her arm raised with her omni-tool at the ready, and then it--oh, wow. Kasumi actually makes a disgusted noise at everything, the squelching sound, the horrifically gross display of it splitting into two and then exploding after Peter shoots at it, just. Why this. ]
Ewww.
[ Sadly, the second one still must be taken care of, and it moves in a surprisingly agile manner considering it's a blob, and Kasumi gracefully sidesteps away from its path and then uses that momentum to jump back a bit, putting some distance between her and the blob before she utters a quick heads up! at Peter and uses her omni-tool's Overload on the thing, the effect being exactly the same as what Peter's blaster did to the first blob. ]
There are plenty of guys who deserve a good punch or ten in Maurtia Falls, so you can look forward to that.
[ Since they're clear, for now, Kasumi shuts her omni-tool and takes the moment to reach down to the longer parts of her skirt that peek out from beneath her jacket and--eh, she grabs fistfuls of the fabric and tears it off. It's liable to cause her to trip up or just get in the way in the middle of a fight.
(And it's not like she used her own money to buy it, anyway.) ]
[ Said in the most girlish tone ever. Up ahead, more blobs terrorizing locals, news at 10, and Kasumi casts Peter a knowing, sidelong glance, as though to say let's go. ]
But with a quick nod to one side, he indicates he'll take the right. Some of the blobs here are considerably larger than others, and Peter wonders why that is. Maybe they've just been eating more? Rolling up unsuspecting squirrels or something?
But his questions are answered as a smaller blob rolls into one of the larger ones, seemingly on accident, and they combine together with a noisy slurp.
Gross.
He starts firing, and then he calls over his shoulder, ]

The topic change is a welcome one. ]
Just gotta have a hand on you and we can pop over. It's a mite disorienting, though, so you might feel kinda dizzy.
Ready?
no subject
I'll try not to throw up on you. Let's go.
no subject
Okay. On three, then.
One-- two--
[ And then air is rushing in around to fill in the space they just vacated, swirls and howls like the center of a hurricane, then--
nothing. The scenery has changed entirely. ]
--Three.

Whoa.

You okay? Need a breather?
no subject
Yeah, uh... Just a sec. Sorry.

If you need to sit, now's the time while we're in the clear. First time's rough. Sorry.
no subject
No, I'll be good. Been through worse dizzy spells than this. [ Again, Joker piloting through the Omega relay. She looks up at him, a thin smile spreading across her lips. ]

[ Aaaand wink. Yep. She's definitely fine. ]
no subject
We'll get you eased into it in no time, I'm sure.

Good to go. Make sure you keep your distance.

This is the worst.
no subject
[ And not in the way the kids are using it, these days, judging by the way Peter's face pinches in disgust. ]
Man, I'd really rather punch a guy than watch that crap again. Can't we just. Punch guys?

There we go.
no subject
[ that was kind of awesome. ]
Guess you weren't too partial to that skirt.
no subject
[ complete with air quotes and a wink. ]
Besides, it was choosing between a ruining a skirt and getting blobbed because I accidentally got tangled up in my clothes.
no subject
You good now?
no subject
Yep, good to go.
[ She doesn't spare a moment before she begins to move towards the downtown area, where most of the commotion seems to be. ]
By the way, love those blasters. They don't need ammunition or anything?
no subject
Nope. Sometimes they overheat a little? But I just gotta sit out of a fight for a little bit and I'm good.
[ He waves vaguely to her wrist. ]
What's that thing called again? It's awesome.
no subject
[ She sighs. And makes a mental note to see what more she can pilfer off of crooks in Maurtia Falls. ]
no subject
You'll find the right gun for you, Goto. Someday your firearm will come.
