Anomaly. I guess that's one way of putting it. Makes it sound scientific, huh?

I mean, what else is it but scientific? A porting device brings people in from different dimensions, granting them mysterious powers that may or may not differ from the ones they already have... I can't even imagine the amount of science and tech that goes into something like that.
